A very impressive boy with fantastic breed type, substance and temperament, all topped off with an enviable show career. January 2008: Ella - Ch. Vannroy Keepsake to Mandazz is Pedigree Masterfoods Top Leonberger 2007. Making her record Top Puppy 2004, Top Female 2006 and Top Leonberger 2007. She is also female Leonberger UK Kennel Club CC record holder.
December 2007: Charlie - Mandazz Phantom 1st Limit Dog LKA 2007. This win gives him his studbook number.
November 2007: We are proud to announce the arrival from Clunkamoor Kennel of our new youngster Clunkamoor Kiss n Tell to Mandazz. She is from Dam Mandazz Eva Peron at Clunkamoor (Deva) x Engleben You've Got a Friend of Benjoeberg - (Mac). Joining her is is Mandazz Scarlett O Hara, who is from Dam Mandazz Samfire (Lacey) x You've Got a Friend of Benjoeberg (Mac). Photos will be published shortly.
October 2007: Leonberger Club of Great Britain Championship Show - Our Ella Ch. Vannroy Keepsake to Mandazz, Best Bitch, Bitch CC & Best In Show. Mandazz Angelic Whisper to Clydebrae (Owned by Mr & Mrs D Mc Clintock) - Reserve Best Bitch, Reserve CC. The show received the biggest entry of Leonbergers (including dogs from overseas exhibited at this show) ever recorded at a show in the UK which means that this was a superb achievement. Thanks to all.
September 2007: Darlington Championship Show - Mandazz Angelic Whisper to Clydebrae (Owned by Mr & Mrs D Mc Clintock) - Bitch CC and Best of Breed, then on to be shortlisted in the Group. Our Ella awarder RCC. Another great day!
September 2007: City of Birmingham Championship Show our Ella - Vannroy Keepsake to Mandazz Best of Breed and shortlisted in a strong group. Judges - top all rounder's: Mr Albert Wight and Mrs Ferelith Somerfield respectively.
Reviewing the year so far - Ella is Top Leonberger at the half way stage (now on 9 cc's), Ivan taking CC & BOB and Group 2 - Ella taking 2 group places at champ level - Mac a 1st at Champ Level, Charlie a 1st at champ level all at shows with CC's on offer. Highlight of the year so far was Ivans great win at WELKS and of course Ella's continued success - topped off with me being invited to judge our breed in Sweden at Championship Speciality. Thanks to my wife Mandy for keeping the 4 of our show team in tip-top condition!

June 2007: Windsor Championship Show - Ivan 2nd Open Dog (out of coat!) also, our Ella, Ch. Vannroy Keepsake to Mandazz - CC (her 7th) Best Bitch and Best of Breed under breed specialist Celia Peters (Rossnick) who is the premier name in Leonbergers UK with a history of 30 years experience - a honour to achieve the Best of Breed from this judge - Thank You Celia.
June 2007: Blackpool Championship Show - Our homebred female Mandazz Angelic Whisper to Clydebrae - Best Bitch and Best of Breed under June Miles then on to shortlist of final 8 in Working Group. Congratulations to owners Gillian & David McLintock.
May 2007: Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show - Our homebred female Mandazz Angelic Whisper to Clydebrae - Bitch CC and Best of Breed. Congratulations to owners Gillian & David McLintock.
May 2007: Birmingham National Championship Show - Ella took Best of Breed from a Leonberger entry of 137, then on to win Working Group 2 in a huge group. So, in two consecutive Champ Shows we have taken Group 2 with two different Leonbergers from our kennel. Charlie's (Mandazz Phantom) debut was 1st in Junior Dog (Ivan stayed at home). Ricci Morgan exclusively handling to perfection, all of our dogs to this success. The breed judge was Mr Hedd Richards and Group Judge Mr Terry Thorne.
April 2007: W&PB of Wales Championship Show: Ella Best of Breed under breed specialist Bridgette Bodle. Then at WELKS Championships Show: Our Swedish Import - Ivan (Knockandos Ivanhoe Original for Mandazz) bred by Ruth Lintonsson of Knockandos Kennel Sweden, was awarded Best of Breed out of an entry of 145 Leonbergers, (including our own Breed BCC record holder & many quality specimens both UK and European) under breed specialist Sarah Sevastopulo; then taking a Working Group 2 under Mr John McManus (beating the Great Dane who took Best in Show at W&PB of Wales Champ Show 2007 on the previous weekend). An incredible achievement for a dog that hasn't been shown in two years!! Of course Ivan being the laid back and level tempered chap, took it all in his stride! I think we can clearly say that he took on the big guns today!! (Private Joke)
March 2007: As Glenda Smith was judging this year at Crufts, we were unable to exhibit Ella, however, our stud dogs proved their salt!
Ivan sired: Best Puppy Helkennas WInters Dream.
Mac Sired: Best Opposite Sex Puppy and 2nd best female puppy.
The winner of special female Junior was from a female we bred: Mandazz Amber.3rd PGD was Mandazz Wicked Whisper to Alimart and 2nd Limit Bitch was Mandazz Angelic Whisper to Clydebrae - congratulations all.
It was nice to see a very nice Swedish male with more titles than you can shake a stick at -take a deserving Best of Breed, and the ringside crowd supporting this decision with a huge cheer of support.
February 2007: Ella (Ch. Vannroy Keepsake to Mandazz) confirmed Top Bitch 2006. Thank you to all for your kind words of appreciation.
January 2007: Another fine day at the first Championship show of the year. Ella won her fifth CC making her female breed record holder UK. Mac won a first in Limit Dog being beaten in the challenge by two super Champions. Mac also did himself proud as he sired the Best puppy female and male. Each puppy from a different litter - the male from Debollinby Kennel and the female puppy from Martin and Alison Lane's Alimart Kennel; their first litter and what a super puppy. This young lady 'Evie' is from a female we bred 'Sasha' - Mandazz Pearl for Alimart (Tia x Knockandos Ivanhoe Original) and sired by Mac of course.
We have been asked (too many times to mention) when we are mating Ella - well sorry folks she is a showgirl and this is where she is staying, for now! We will retire her from the show ring for a litter when the time is right.
This year we hope that Charlie (Ch Vannroy Helkenna Will Scarlett x Lacey) should be in the show ring, fingers crossed. A handsome young chap just 11 months old, looking super. Photos will be published on his page shortly (when the weather improves enough to get some decent ones!).
December 2006: Due to other commitments we have not exhibited at any shows since Bournemouth, but WOW what a day at the last big show of the year, the LKA at the NEC Birmingham where Ella - Ch. Vannroy Keepsake to Mandazz was awarded, from an entry of 140 dogs, by International Judge Mr Frank Kane: her fourth CC, Best of Breed, and shortlisted in the group, this makes her the Top Female 2006 (Subject to Confirmation) which gives us our third year with a dog at the top! The icing on the cake being our homebred Mandazz Angelic Whisper to Clydebrae - Neala owned and adored by David and Gillian McClinlock, taking the female Reserve CC, we are so proud! Mac's third show this year gave him an admirable 2nd in Limit Dog.

July 2006: This month was a bitter sweet month. On the Thursday before Windsor we were burgled, on the Friday a proud day as I watched my son's passing out parade. (Photos Left), followed by moving date for our new home, followed by CC & RCC at the Champ shows.
July 2006: Following on from her Painton CC - 3 days later at National Working & Pastoral Breeds Assoc. Ella was awarded her 3rd Reserve CC - the elusive 3rd CC eh? Dog CC went to William's litter mate making the 2nd champion in this litter (equaling the previous breed record in UK) - well done Helene - Helkenna Kennel.
July 2006: Paignton Championship show once again our Ella picked up her 2nd CC under Crufts 2006 Best in Show judge Mrs Brenda Banbury.
May 2006: Birmingham National Championship Show our Ella - Vannroy Keepsake to Mandazz, from an entry of 142 won Best of Breed under breed specialist judge Mrs Judi Oriani and later in the day placed in the final 7 of the Working Group!!. Ella was perfectly handled by our good friend Ricci Morgan of the Rossimon kennel, who - by the way- have bred some fantastic Akitas! I handled Mac to 3rd in Open dog - a great achievement for a lad that is new to the show ring. Glenda's William (Vannroy Helkenna Will Scarllet) was not entered in the breed classes this year, but won Champion Stakes - another good day at Birmingham!!
May 2006: WELKS Championship Show - Mac 3rd Open Dog - William Best of Breed - Congratulations Glenda! Ella was in season (on heat) so did not attend, sods law that she looks in fine fettle at the moment. She will, however, be at Birmingham National Championship Show.
April 2006: Jocolda Sonnetti at Mandazz - A sad day as Tia lost her short fight against bone cancer at the tender age of just over 6 years old. Tia came to us from Joan & Dave Rushby at the Jocolda Kennel, Glossop, Derbyshire - and was a dearly loved member of the family. As a show girl she had some success, including Reserve Best in Show at Leonberger Club of Great Britain Open Show. Thankfully Tia lives on through her sons and daughters from the 3 litters she successfully produced. Thank you to the Leonberger community world wide for your tremendous support at this awful time. Tia - may you rest in peace - god bless -x-
